Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 1/2 yr old daughter just bit into an ambien. She immediately started sputtering and spitting to get it out. Most of hit the ground. What I m worried about is the little bit that got packed down in the grooves of her jaw teeth when she but it. I put water in her mouth and stuck my finger down her throat and she threw up just a little. This happened about 30 min ago and she s currently playing with some blocks. Should I rush her to the ER??
As per my clinical experience, the ambien is a hypnotic used for induction of sleep with Zolpidem content. The onset of action takes around 1 hour or so and hence your daughter showing up at 30 minutes period is not related to the drug, rather panic on child par through parental behavior. Just observe her over a period of next 12 hours before rushing to an ER to spend handsome bucks of dollars for no emergency reason as child is playing with BLOCKS.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
