Are Clogged Ears And Tinnitus Residuals From Bell's Palsy?
I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy last May and had recovered quickly after a month of Physical Therapy, Steroids and ES. During the medication, I had fullness of ears/clogged ears and tinnitus. I went to ENT and he had checked it through Endoscopy twice there is nothing wrong with my internal and external ear. He had given me a steroidal nasal spray for a month but still continue to have clogged ears and tinnitus from time to time. Is this part of the residual from Bells? Will these heal? Please advise. Thanks!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of clogged ears and tinnitus which does not seems to be residuals of Bell's palsy. But in your case it seems to me that there is spread of infection from through eustachian tube which is left untreated for long time or low immunity. For now take steam twice a day and do warm saline gargles. Apply warm compresses on ear. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without delay otherwise it can spread to middle and inner ear and complicate the condition. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , decongestant , expectorant along with anti inflammatory.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
