Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Cloudy, Foul Smelling Urine, And Frequent Urination Symptoms Of UTI?
I had a urine test for my frequent UTIs today was negative although I have been having the signs and symptoms of the infection. Cloudy, foul smelling urine, and major urgency and feeling like have to go every second even after I have just gone. My Dr. prescribed Pyridium will this help?
Thank you for asking your question Yes,Burning micturition, urgency, pain during micturition, foul smelling and fever all these are symptoms of urinary tract infection. You said your todays urine routine examination is negative for infection but that doest not rule out urinary tract infection. You will need to do urine culture examination and have to take antibiotics according to report.
You said you are suffering from recurrent UTI then it is necessary to find out the cause for recurrent UTI.
Please do consult with your physician for investigations and and appropriate treatment.
Pyridium will help to resolve symptoms but not a definitive treatment.
Regards.
