Are Cough, Fever And Running Nose Common While Teething?
My daughter is 10 months old and she is having cough, fever and running nose problem, as per doctor s advice we are giving Levolin and Xyzal syrups to her. Is it sufficient for her to cure earlier ? Also as per some elders, child might get such pains while teeths are about to come out ? Does it really happen ?
I can understand your concern. When teeth are erupting in the oral cavity, the gums become little sore and itchy and the child tends to put fingers or almost anything in the mouth to chew on that itchy gum.
Because of this habit of putting anything in the mouth, it is easy for a child to get various infections as all the things that she might be putting in her mouth won't be sterile.
Thus, some infections do have connection with the teething phenomenon, though not direct. I would suggest you to continue the treatment that the treating doctor has advised and be careful regarding what your puts into her mouth. You can invest into teethers that are available specially for this purpose for the child to chew on.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
