Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Cramps And Spotting Normal After CVS Procedure?
I did have my CVS done on 18th of june and on that day had some small spotting but after a week from day before yesterday I am having cramping and light pink bleeding. I went to hospital the day before yesterday and had a ultrasound done, the report came good. No open cervix or damage in placenta. Baby was moving fine and heart beat was 152. IM just worries. Do I need to worry or it is normal?
I have gone through your question and i understand your concern. The most common side effects of Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) procedure are cramping at the side of puncture point and spotting. What you have is completely normal and as you have already had a normal ultrasound, there is no need to worry.
I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you and your baby good health.
