I was just wondering about the probability and side effects of low stomach acidity. I was diagnosed with acid reflux over three years ago. I took all prescribed meds faithfully and even took them a little more than regular when symptoms became worse. I went back to the doctor several times and asked why I never felt better on the perscribed meds after a short period of time of feeling ok after original diagnoses. Last year still not feeling well they ask me to have a upper gi done and it returned normal. My symptoms began to change after I did research on line and found that low stomach acidity could be occuring and began to supplement betaine hcl with pepsin and I have felt better for about 5 months but still do not feel normal still. Occassionally dealing with dizziness, gassyness and bloating. Just wondering if you think low acidity is a stretch? My doctors didn t seem interested in discussing it.
