Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why do my dry lips feel Waxy when I wake up in the morning or afternoon? It isn't everyday, but it's VERY close to everyday. Is it potentially from dehydration since I used to drink several bottles of water a day (nearly 10-12) a day and now I've dropped to 4-6 bottles?
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like scrapings from the lip can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to take multivitamin supplements daily.. You can apply a thick coat or Petroleum jelly over the lips.. You can exfoliate your lips gently with a mild scrub.. Drink plenty of water.. Avoid excess sun exposure to the lips..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
