Are Elevated Blood Pressure Levels A Matter Of Concern?
I ve been taking amlodipine 5mg daily for 4 months now due to blood pressure. My blood pressure reading is usually 120/80. Lately, my blood pressure reading went up to 140/90 or 130/90. That reading was for 2 days. Should I be worried about these blood pressure readings?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
140/90 is not a matter of concern.
Continue Amlodipine and avoid salty foods.
Check BP again after two weeks and if the blood pressure recordings are persistently over 140 range, additional drug may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
