Are Fever, Nausea, Fatigue, Skin Rashes And Joint Pain Signs Of HIV?

Hi Doctor, i had an sexual encounter on 13 dec 2010, after two days i have fever, nausea and headache whisch for three days then after i am extreamly fatigue for a week, eyes burning and on third week i have pain in chest and left arm then i consult to doc he gave some medicine and tests then the pain has gone then after in fourth week i have some skin rashes on face, arm, back and chest. In chest the rashes has gone in two days but remaining are there on body and then in fifth week i have very severe joint pain in leg, hands and all bodyache for 4-5 days. I have tested hiv1 and 2 test on 14th day Neg, then HIV ECLIA test ab/ag on 26th day Neg and HIV 1 /2 & p24 Combo test on 43rd day neg. I want ask you that all these above mentioned symptoms are related to hiv and HIV combo test at 43 day are conclusive. Thanks for your reply

Thank you for query.the dates are too old too comment already you will have the reports and diagnosis .The chances of transmission of HIV by sexual route is 1/ 200 to 1/2000 even if the partner is HIV infected.It is least as you have protected intercourse.The symptoms are non specific and can be due to viral or flu also.so relax and do not worry of HIV.As the tests are negative especially the combo test is conclusive after 3 weeks of exposure though elisa may not be helpful at 26 or 43 rd day.please consult physician for examination and management of symptoms which may be mainly due to anxiety also.You are free from HIV you can allay fears about it.You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist.
