Are Gymnasium Exercises Advisable For A 60 Year Old?
Sir, I am 62 years male. Still I am active and walking daily. To improve my muscle strength I joined in Gym. Doing 20minutes (2 km) walk and 10 minutes cycling and low weight pulling down for my hands and body for 10 minutes. My relatives are saying after 60 I should not go for gym. I am type2 diabetes using 500 SR Glycomet Tablet twice a day. Please suggest me.
You can do slight exercises until you feel no health issues. But while exercising kindly keep your self well hydrated and watch for symptoms like dizziness, breathlessness, weakness and tiredness. If you feel any one of these then kindly discontinue the exercises. Eat a well balanced diet.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
