Are Hard Bumps Inside The Nostril A Sign Of Infection?
Good Evening. I have just noticed a hard bump inside of my right nostril on the wall of the septum. It does not hurt to the touch but is rather bothersome. I took notice of this a couple of days ago while trying to blow my nose. I put my pinky inside of my nostril and felt it and then used a flashlight to take a look at it. It is the size of a large pimple (but not a pimple) and it is lighter in color than the surrounding tissue. Could it be a simple infection or something more sinister?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems like you have a nasal polyp which is a harmless growth inside the nostril and it can occur due to chronic inflammatin or infection related to nose and sinuses like Chronic Sinusitis, asthma, recurring common cold, bronchitis, allergies causing nasal inflammation etc.. You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get thoroughly evaluated and in case of nasal polyp he can advise you oral and nasal steroids, anti-allergics, aspirin desensitization etc.. In case if it does not resolve with medication then removal can be done by performing a minor surgery..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
