Are Having Hot Flashes And Hair Loss Symptoms Of Perimenopause?
I m experiencing hot flashes, loss of hair (more then normal) - my hairdresser has really noticed this the last month, easy bruising and I don t remember running into anything. I did the symptom checker on here and it said perimenopause. I had a hysterectomy in 2000. Would I still go through menopause at aged 50?
Hot flashes can occur due to hormonal imbalance.Thyroid function should also be tested.Several medications like clonidine and low doses of certain antidepressants (such as venlafaxine and fluoxetine) are useful in reducing hot flashes.
Other Non-medical recommendations are as follows.Drink ice water or apply an ice pack at the onset of a hot flash. Adequate hydration is essential.Wear cotton or lightweight, breathable fabrics and dress in layers so you can adjust as needed.
Exercise on a regular basis.Try practicing meditation or relaxation exercises to manage stress.Avoid triggers such as warm rooms, spicy foods, caffeinated beverages, and alcohol.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
