Schizophrenia is a neuropsychiatric syndrome characterised by abnormalities in thought, perception, behaviour, affect and other domains of day to day functioning. Most of individuals with schizophrenia have symptoms like hearing voices especially running commentaries and third person voices also called as hallucinations. Suspiciousness, feelings that thoughts are being broadcasted are other common symptoms. The feelings that your thoughts are different than others and these too are not illogical can t put you in diagnosis of schizophrenia. Absence of insight is one of important things to make diagnosis of schizophrenia. So mere presence of illogical thoughts, strange behaviour don t help to make diagnosis of schizophrenia.
