General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The headache and cold sore are related to upper respiratory tract infection with some sort of virus or bacteria most likely.
My guidelines at present:
- Allow him more liquids intake as hot coffee or else
- Should avoid exposure to cold wind, protect ears with ear plugs and cotton
- Refrain from consuming aerated drinks, dairy items
- Avoid exposure to dust or pollen, smoking if consuming
- Decongestant with analgesic action as diphenhydramine with acetaminophen
- Inhalation of vapors of boiled water added Karvol capsules

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
