Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Heaviness In Arms And Legs With Pain In Joints Suggestive Of Viral Infection?
Yes. I m a 44 year old male.......6 6 ..... 227 lbs in relative good health. But for the last three weeks, I am extremely tired; my arms and legs feel heavy and I seem to have pain in all my joints. My stomach feels upset and I don t have an appetite. Do you think I have some type of viral infection?
Usually, viral infection when implicated with gastrointestinal symptoms does not last this long (3 weeks).
I think you might have other issues. Should consult with your primary doctor first and run a few diagnostic tests to determine this change in your health :
- complete blood count
- urine analysis
- liver/kidney/pancreas function test
- hepatitis testing
- CRP/ERS/Fibrinogen
- checking the levels of electrolytes/vitamin D, B12/folate/iron in blood to rule out related abnormalities.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
