Are Heavy Cramps, Fever, Spotting Symptoms Of A Successful Medical Abortion?

My period was due on 5th of this month. i tested and was positive on pregnancy. visited a gyno and was suggested to use cytotec 200mg. i took 10 tabs orally, i had heavy cramps, fever and spotting only. There is no heavy bleeding. Is my abortion successful?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Just spotting does not indicate successful medical abortion.
Bleeding will be moderate to heavy with blood clots and fetal tissue depending upon the age of the pregnancy.
It will normally start within 30-45 minutes to 1-2 days after taking the pill.
If no bleeding will occur then consult the gynecologist as some case require double dose to induce the abortion.
Heavy cramp and fever is side effect of the pill.
Other cause like pelvic infection and incomplete abortion should be rule out.
So consult the gynecologist and take proper treatment.
Take tablet meftal spas and paracetamol.
