Are Hot Flashes And Profuse Sweating Signs Of Peri-menopause?

I am 45 years old and obese. My father passed in June and since then I have had stroke level blood pressure, which I am trying to control now with my diet and exercise. I am always hot on the inside and often sweat profusely from my forehead when I feel rushed. I have been diagnosed as premenopausal. Is this heat and the sweating a symptom of the perimenopause?
