Are Infections Possible During The Transfusion Of Blood Into Containers?

There is an accident happened when I m trying to transfer blood into another container. I accidentally drop a blood on my finger. I wipe it immediately. I wash my hand and tried to drop some alcohol on my fibger to see if I have open wound but luckily I couldn t feel any pain so I guess I dont have any open wound in my finger. However, I couldn t stop being a paranoid. What are the chances of me getting infections/diseases? And what are those diseases. By the way, I had my HBV vaccine last year and my titer value is quite good.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your possibilities of getting infection from contact following blood transfusion I am suggesting that you will have the following differential diagnosis

Ebola virus infection
Yellow fever
Dengue fever
Hepatitis A infection

In view of this please do a blood culture to rule out the above medical conditions

Meanwhile see an emergency physician specialist for further clinical evaluation as well as immediate drug prescription

I hope this helps Regards
