Are Lack Of Concentration And Insomnia Due To Ativan?
Hi , would taking 1 Mg of Ativan every night for sleeping reasons reduce your mental health in general ? I have taken Ativan for over two years and unfortunately i experienced bad side effect like lack of concentration , insomnia and loose of control over my business and life . Please advise if this changes could be the side effect of using 1Mg of Ativan at nights to help me sleep. My email address is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks for your time . Regards
Hi You have been taking 1 mg of Lorazepam (Ativan) tablets for a very long time now and have developed tolerance for the same, which means this much quantity of medication is ineffective for you for your previous complaints. Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine molecule which is notorious for habit-forming (dependence). I do not think the effects like insomnia, lack of concentration or the loss of interest in work are side effects of taking this drug, they rather are your underlying problems which were masked all this time by this drug and ave now resurfaced with increased intensity as the drug's effect has faded. I suggest you to consult a Psychiatrist and take proper treatment for these anxiety symptoms. How is your mood most of the day? How is your appetite? Do you feel easily fatigued lately? How is your confidence level? There might be a possibility of underlying depression which needs to be ruled out. Thank you for the question. I wish you a speedy recovery.
