Are Lesions Inside The Eyelids Indicative Of Melanoma?

Can Melanoma of the eye be diagnosed from lesions that have formed on the inside of the lower & upper eyelids? I will have a biopsy done this week on the lesions found in my lower & upper lids for melanoma. Numerous other diagnosis have been ruled out..ie: shingles, conjunctivitis, Sjogren s disease complications, medication reaction along with eye drop usage.

Can i know duration of that lesion over eyelid??? Its gross finding like asymmetric border? Vascular? Colour ? Painful or painless??

Depending on above features your doctor may be suspected some form of malignant tumour like lesion..

So yes biopsy will be useful . on histopathological examination we can reach for exact diagnosis and depending on that treatment decided.

So histopath can confirm melenona tumour.

Here you might reveal some soft tissue tumour also like hemangioma or rhabdomyosarcoma or fatty tissue tumour on histo examination.

Biopsy may also reveal sebaceous adenoma or other reactive infective nodule like diagnosis also.

So your management will depend on your biopsy report.
