Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi my name is sarah i just found two weeks ago i have several lesions on my liver. the doctors did the biopsy, everything negative no cancer. im still worried because they never told me where they come from or what cause it. my question is shoud i get a second opinion?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Multiple lesions in liver raise the possibility of cancer. However, besides cancer there are other benign lesions which can cause multiple lesions in the liver like multiple hemangioma, focal nodular hyperplasia, liver adenoma, etc. An aspiration cytology or biopsy will help to determine the nature of the lesions. There is a possibility that nothing alarming was detected on biopsy and thus, your doctor did not tell you anything. However, you can post the biopsy report for biopsy interpretation.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
