Are Low Absolute Monocytes And High RDW Indicative Of Any Serious Diseases?
Hi, I m wondering if the combination of low absolute monocytes and repeatedly high RDW, possibly even adding elevated TPO (prior hashis diagnosis and almost 2 yrs post total thyroidectomy with incidental finding of Papillary thyroid carcinoma) is indicative of any particular disease or disorder?

Monocytes are a type of white blood cell and it is used along with the total white blood cell count.
RDW is normally used along with the hemoglobin, red cell count.
These two parameters are not interpreted on their own.
If the total white cell is ok and the hemoglobin and red cell count are also within range then any slight changes are not likely significant.
If this is not the case, then the you should be assessed.
