Hi,

Magnesium oxide plus electrolytes is a mineral supplement that is used in the treatment and prevention of magnesium deficiency in the body. It is very vital for the proper functioning of cells, nerves, muscles, bones etc. Magnesium competes with calcium for helping relax the muscles of the body. It contributes to flexibility and prevent injury by relaxing tight muscles. If your body having lack of magnesium to compete with calcium, your muscles may contract too much, muscles of body can't properly relax, possibly cause cramps, spasms, stiffness or soreness.

Magnesium deficiency can cause the production of lactic acid which can create post workout soreness and stiffness. So, Magnesium is commonly prescribed by the doctor for treating muscle soreness and stiffness. Researches have suggested that taking 300-500 mg of Magnesium daily has been shown to reduce or subside the symptoms of muscle soreness and stiffness.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
