I have this mri result of my cousin, Impression... marrow changes with loss of endplate definitions as well as disc space, paravertebral and epidural abscess, as detailed in the thoracic vertebrae may relate to pyogenic spondyloscitis versus tuberculous spondylitis . clinical correlation is suggested. Lumbar straightening probably secondary to muscle spasm. multi level disc bulge described with annular tear, L4-L5. degenerative changes of spine with modic 11 changes as described and pfirrmann grade the hyper intense signals in the lungs may relate to infectious inflammatory process with minimal pleural effusion atheromatous aorta... what does it means? does he needs to undergo operation? is there a chance to cure this sickness. I madly needed your advise.. Thanks in advance
The MRI report shows collection of pus space around the thoracic vertebrae. In addition, there are changes in lung fields and collection of pleural fluid in chest. These findings favor tubercular infection. However, additional investigations like pleural tap for various investigations - total protein, ADA, PCR for tuberculosis need to be done. Besides this, there is tear in the intervertebral disc which need to be repaired. You need to consult a pulmonologist for former problem and orthopedician for later.
