Are Mild Headache And Drowsiness Post An Injury To Temple A Cause For Concern?
Hi: This morning my 16-year old daughter says she was playfully hit, accidentally in the temple, by a classmate who supposedly was not trying to be hurtful. My daughter is still experiencing a mild headache and drowsiness (the slight dizziness has subsided). My wife is taking her to be examined by her regular physician. Meanwhile, is it true that she should not nap and not take any pain reliever? Thanks. PC
I do not seen any thing serious. Children do get hit on their head and their head is OK for such small to medium blows. In this case, a good nights sleep should solve the issue because of the child's psychological affect. Your child's doctor could also have the same opinion. Don't worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand, Psychologist
