I understand your concern.
Majority of kidney stone is formed with calcium
oxalate and
calcium phosphate stones (80% of stones). There is no medication or food available that can successfully dissolve these stones.
In select patients with uric acid stones (5-7% of stones) or
cystine stones (1-3% of stones), medications or dietary means can be used to help dissolve their stones. However, even in these cases, surgery might be required to remove or treat the stones.
Hence, use of millet and citrus fruit juices like cranberry juice might be beneficial in keeping the urine at optimum pH and help in preventing in
urinary tract infections only, and not dissolving the stones and getting rid of it completely.
It would be advisable to
consult Urologist for proper evaluation and management.
