Losartan HCTZ contains both
losartan potassium and
hydrochlorothiazide which is used to treat
high blood pressure. It is also used to lower the risk of strokes in patients with high blood pressure and enlarged heart. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.
Side effects of Losartan HCTZ are muscle pain, joint pain, back pain, knee pain, stomach pain, dizziness, headache, tiredness, weakness, skin rash, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, dry cough, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, increased thirst, mood swings, chest pain, drowsiness, confusion, pale skin, pain or burning when you urinate,
shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, trouble concentrating, wheezing,
low blood sugar, diarrhea, fatigue, chills or fever, hypotension, changes in the electrolytes, allergic reactions etc. If these side effects persist for long, you should consult your doctor promptly for help. Don't start or stop taking this medication without your doctor's advice.
