Are Muscle Pain, Nausea, Mild Fever And Diarrhea Indicative Of Listeria Infection?

I may have had Listeria. All my symptoms point to it--muscle aches, nausea, slow onset, mild fever, diarrhea I seem to have overcome it after about five days of rest. Question: Am I still possibly infected and should get a blood test for the bacterium?

Hi,

If all the symptoms are gone after self care with rest, plenty of oral fluids and liquid diet for 5 days. There is no need of antibiotics to cure the infection. But in case symptoms recur, it's advisable to start with antibiotic as per your family physicians advise.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
