Are Nausea And Frequent Urination Side Effects Of Depo Shots?

I had my depo shot 2.5 months ago and they did a urine test and it came back negative for pregnancy. I cannot stop eating or using the bathroom and have had some nausea are these normal depo side effects or is there a possibility of pregnancy. Also, my daughter is only 5 months old.

Hi,

Nausea and frequent urination are not typically common side effects of the Depo-Provera shot. However, every person's body reacts differently to medication, and some individuals may experience these symptoms. It's possible that your symptoms could be related to the Depo shot, but it's also important to consider other potential causes, such as pregnancy or a urinary tract infection (UTI).

If your urine pregnancy test was negative, it's less likely that you are pregnant, but it's still possible to have a false negative result. It's recommended to repeat the test or have a blood pregnancy test to confirm. Frequent urination can also be a symptom of a UTI, which is a common bacterial infection that can cause pain, burning, and urgency when urinating. It's recommended to see a healthcare provider to rule out a UTI or any other underlying medical conditions.

Increased appetite can also be a side effect of the Depo shot, and it's important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine to prevent excessive weight gain. It's also important to note that the Depo shot is generally considered safe for breastfeeding mothers, but it's recommended to discuss any concerns with a healthcare provider.

Overall, if you are experiencing unusual symptoms or have concerns about your health, it's recommended to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms and determine the underlying cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
