Are Nausea, Sleep Disturbance And Decreased Energy Level Side Effects Of Prednisone?

Thank you. I had an allergic reaction to ? Something last Tuesday. Dr started me on Prednisone 50mgs Wed morning which I took until Friday morning when I went back to the Drs. The second Dr added Zrytec & Rani 2 Because the rash was not being controlled.I have continued on the Prednisone 50mgs until yesterday when I took just 25mgs, as I have done today. My rash is gone but I don t feel my usual self. Is it the Prednisone? I intend to come off it slowly ie 25mgs for 3 days, 12:5 for 3 days. Is it an appropriate course of action. I feel a bit nauseated at times, sleep disturbances, a clouded mind, decrease energy level. Kate

Thank you for contacting HCM.
All of these medicines are very good fo treating allergic conditions and your generalized weakness isn't caused by any of these. Prednisolone is a steroid, it doesn't cause feeling of being unwell. And after its use, it needs to be tapered off slowly exactly as you did.
