Are Outbreak Of Rashes And Respiratory Infection The Symptoms Of HIV?
I participated in a high risk event and received unprotected oral sex from a sex worker. I tested negative using OraQuick at 2,4, and 8 months after event. I ve broken out with rashes, had strep throat, and an upper respiratory infection. Could I have HIV?
I can understand your concern. Though Oraquick is quick and easy method to test at home for HIV infection, it is not the reliable test in all cases. Thus, you should go for a blood test that detects presence of HIV antibody in your body (ELISA). If that test comes negative, then you are not infected with HIV presently.
If the test comes negative, then you are having an upper respiratory tract infection that can be cured with course of Azithromycin 500 mg (Azee 500) once a day for 3 days. Painkillers can be taken with it. If this medicine does not help, you should consult a physician for physical examination and further investigations.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon!
