Are Outbreaks Of Bite Marks On Body Suggestive Of Scabies?

I live in an A.L.F. and have had outbreaks of bites w/ allergic reaction - use Kenalog cream and Benadryl capsules - there have been proven bed bugs - fleas - roaches - spiders - no-see-ums - mosquitoes - fire ants all which have bitten me w/ same outcome - exterminators are regularly treating the facility - NOW - I know scabies can affect the inner wrists - but can it cause welts sporatically elsewhere - also I have what look like black scales on my lower legs which itch - I was told by various doctors that those are due to lack of circulation and not to pick them off because they are like little bandages and with edema if a blister pops thru them - they could get infected - my concern is something I read Norwegian Scabies?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Spread bite like lesions are very likely due to insect bites rather than to scabies.
Scabies most of the times causes tinny pimples that crust.
More specifically, it is the skin examination that will give more understanding of the possible cause of the lesions so talking to your doctor and having a good skin examination are needed for the diagnosis.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
