Are Pain In The Abdomen Especially During Bowel Movements Related To Adhesions?
I have had adhesions before and I m pretty sure I have them again. It s been along time though. I have several surgeries in the past in my abdominal area. I am in pain all the time now and now when I have a bowl movement the pain in my abdomen is intense. Would one have to do with the other?
Since you are a known case of intestinal adhesions and have undergone many surgeries, the pain in abdomen all the time can very well be related to these. This can also have increased pain during bowel movements. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get Enteroclysis done to know the present status. Go for liquid diet. Consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and also discuss abut the role of further surgery if needed. You also must be knowing that the surgery may help so go for it if needed. Also ask your Surgeon to know the cause of repeated adhesions so that specific management can also be done; say for example tuberculosis can be one of the reasons. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon.
