Are Painful Slits On The Bottom Gum Indicative Of STD?

I have two small slits on my bottom gum. It has been like that for a few days now with pain. There isn t any blood coming out of them. I was wondering if it could be something along the lines of an STD since I had given oral sex to a guy the day before they appeared.

Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Trauma during oral sex can cause asbestos to the gums and tongue.

Avoid brushing over that area to percent further trauma. You need to consult with your Dentist to rule out infection or STDs. You will also be prescribed antibiotic medicines as necessary.

Avoid oral sex till you are properly diagnosed and treated.

Eat healthy. Keep well hydrated.

Thanking you.

Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu
