I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain it seems that the flat red circles at the back of tongue are Circumvallate Papillae and some individuals might have prominent and large papillae that are present in a typical "V" shaped patter at the back one third of tongue.. They can get slightly swollen or red with very hot foods, chemical substances like concentrated solution of mouthwash, throat infection, post nasal drip etc.. Nothing to worry about it as there seems to be nothing serious and it seems to be papillae only.. They are not resolving because they does not seems to be pathological but might have a normal anatomical appearance.. No need to worry about it and you can simply maintain a good oral hygiene and do warm saline gargles.. In case if you still doubt consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
