Are Post Meal Sugar Levels Of 140 To 150 During Pregnancy Normal?

Hi, I am 24yrs old and 35 weeks pregnant. I have been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and have been regularly checking my sugars. My Doc has suggested that i check my sugar levels after every meal (2hrs post meal and dinner). All readings are more than 140 to 150, Are these levels ok?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear friend
I can understand your concern
I my opinion it's advisable to keep post lunch blood sugars below 130 for a better outcome in pregnancy
usually I advise my patients to follow diet and exercise to control blood sugar in pregnancy.
in case this life style changes fail to show results the it's better to consider small dose of insulin.
as insulin is the best way to reduce sugar and it's very safe for the baby
kindly discuss with your doc for further analysis
regards
