Are Prednisone Shots Recommended For Elderly Patients?
My 70 year old father received a shot of prednisone a week ago. Yesterday he received a script for 21 pills 4 mg MethylPrednisolone It was given by two different doctors. I mean the shot and the pills It was for an ear infection, liquid in the ear. He could hear very little in the infected ear. Is this to much prednisone for his age and relatively weak health

Maximum daily dose of Methyl Prednisolone is 60mg/day divided in 3-4 equal doses (depending upon severity of disease). You can calculate by looking at the leaflet of the medicine.
