HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

There are many side effects of prednisone but these side effects are seen only when it is taken over a long time. So I need to know for how long you have been advised Prednisone.

I will list some of the common side effects of Prednisone but let me tell you these side effects doesn't occur in every individual.

Agitation, anxiety,Dizziness,headache, irritability
mental depression,mood changes,nervousness
numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
weight gain
Gastritis , Gastric Ulcers ,
Cataract,
Raised Blood sugars,
Skin Thinning,
Weakening of bones.

There is no significant interaction between Prednisone and Atenolol.

If you have been prescribed Prednisone for short duration then you can take it. But if it is for a long duration then gradual dose reduction has to be done to avoid the side effects.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
