Is it normal to have pregnancy symptoms on mirena? I had my IUD inserted on 10/09/2014 and have been having sex without any other protection since my check up to make sure it was in place. This past week and a half I ve noticed a few things like My breasts have gotten bigger and softer/mushy, I ve had cramps in a U shape around my lower abdomen, Nausea w/some vomiting, Gas, frequent urination and more number 2s than usual, bloating, I ve also been extremely tired... I took a hpt 3 days ago but it was negative, I m just wondering is this normal or could I possibly be pregnant?
Hi , I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Irregular periods, breast engorgement and tenderness, nausea, lethargy and sleepiness are common side effects of the progesterone hormone which is present in Mirena. If your urine pregnancy test is negative, then chances of pregnancy are not there. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, and get Mirena removal done if the symptoms are severe and distressing. Hope you found the answer helpful.
