Are Rashes On The Legs A Side Effect Of Nitrofurantoin Mono?

Completed the final pill of nitrofurantoin mono-mcr Monday night for UTI & then noticed a rash on front only of both legs below knee to ankle. Itched then but not now. Sunday had worn all day the Miracle Copper Compression Socks. Might this rash be from the meds and a reaction of copper? or both. Have no allergies at all to my knowledge. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think your allergic reaction comes from copper and not from nitrofurantoin because you have been for several days with nitrofurantoin and only recently in contact with copper. Take cetirizine10 mg before bed. Keep yourself in observation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
