Are Recurrent Rashes On The Knees And Ankles Related To Hypothyroidism?

I have hypothyroidism which is under control with 30 mg of np thyroid daily. I have rashes that appear on my knees, ankles and underneath my upper arms. I used many different creams and they heal for a while and come back in one of the mentioned areas. The itching is driving me nuts, especially at night. Don t know if my thyroid problems are related to these rashes.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your rashes are not related to the hypothyroidism. Usually, there will be no rashes and thyroid myopathy will be there, so maybe you have allergic rashes.

Kindly take any antihistaminic drug like Cetirizine, Levocetirizine etcetera with a prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
