Are Recurring Body Shrugs And Strange Gestures Suggestive Of Seizures?
Last summer sometime my husband started lifting his head off the pillow (at night) and kind of looking around and then slamming his head back down really hard. He would do this 3-4 times and then just continue sleeping. He has PTSD (Vietnam Nam Vet) so I just attributed it to nightmares. Now he s started doing some other strange behavior during the day. He will be sitting in his chair and all of a sudden purse his lips together very tight and get a very fearful look in his eyes, then start shrugging his shoulders, sometimes waving a hand in the air one time was sticking his tongue in and out really fast. Or he will slap his hands on the arms of his chair and then throw them up like he s confused? Not sure how to dicribe this. This all lasts maybe 4-5 seconds and if I call his name he just looks at me really dazed and says nothing is wrong and continues on watching tv or looking at his iPad. I do t think he remembers what has just happened. Is this maybe some sort of seizure? He has an appointment coming up with his heart Dr and his eye Dr is going to schedule him for an eeg. He does have heart disease and is on heart mess but not on any kind of anti depressants for the PTSD. The VA is also trying to get him into some kind of counceling as his PTSD has been bad lately. Sorry to make this so long, but I m very worried
