Are Recurring Feeling Of Trances With Profuse Sweating Indicative Of Seizures?

My son is 30 suffers seizures since 23, her on keppra 1000mg twice daily we call them mini seizures. He just sits or stands and doesn t say a word won t respond to anything like her in a trance. He sweats profusely and then comes out of it and remembers nothing, scares the he ll out of me. Is this some form of seizure?

I can understand your concern. What you are describing regarding your son is a type of epilepsy called Petit Mal or Absence seizures where the person suffering from seizures does not show any jerky or shaky movements but may remain absent from the worldly activities. He might keep staring, may not respond to anything and may not even remember having such an episode.

If the frequency of this kind of seizures is higher, you should contact your son's treating doctor and go for investigations and management.
