Are Recurring Hive-like Rashes Above The Mouth And Chin A Serious Concern?

During the month of December while at work I felt like hives where starting to form above my mouth and chin. There was a tight feeling and also uncomfortable light itching. When it went down brown spots appeared in the same areas. This happened again on Christmas morning and again today. Is this something I should worry about?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be allergic eczema.

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like Betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Antihistamines like Cetirizine or Pheniramine can be taken for itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
