Are Red, Painful Spots On Body With High Fever And Throat Infection Contagious?
My sister was suffering from high fever throat infection ahe was given febrex CCF, Cefolac-AZ .after 3 days she started producing red spots all over her hands and feet red small clots and were painful. She is 16yr old. Then we gave her allegra 180mg .is it fine...?my query is is the allergy viral ..since i have two toddler s at home wat precautions must we have ....
Understanding your concern. As per your query your sister have red, painful spots on body with high fever and throat infection which seems to be due to viral infection to your body. It could be due to upper respiratory tract infection as well. Need not to worry. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy food. Allegra 180 mg is right medication to prevent infection. I would suggest you to start with anti-inflammatory medication such as Levocetirizine. You should take Tylenol for fever as well. Do tepid sponging if fever is increasing. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and get blood tests done. Start treatment after proper prescription and diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antiviral/ antibacterial medications. Avoid cold liquids. Sip on warm water.
your sister seems to be having an allergic reaction to one of the medication, please continue with allegra but stop the other medications as we do not know which one she is allergic to, please ask her to revisit the physician and get it confirmed, if it is an allergic reaction which is is in all probability is no precaution is needed but still as an universal rule please keep the little ones away from her till proper diag is made
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red, painful spots on body with high fever and throat infection . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like viral pharyngitis , strep throat , tonsillitis , acid reflux , But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to viral infection . This can be contagious , but infection occur due to those with lower immunity . I would suggest you to take your medicines as per prescription , but if they will not improve the condition , then consult ENT specialist again for proper checkup . Doctor may order viral culture test , throat swab test along with blood test to check the igE antibodies . Doctor may prescribe antiviral like acyclovir along with immunosuppressants and anti inflammatory . For now do warm saline gargles several times a day and take anti histamine like bendryl .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
