General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Skeeter syndrome is the condition in which there is rash over site of mosquito bite. The rash is not due to the bite of mosquito but because of the bodies immune response to the proteins in the saliva of the mosquito. Usually the allergic response is more common in children than adults because adults are desensitized to the salivary proteins due to repeated bites. Depends on the duration of exposure, the rash may be severe. Mostly it subsides on its own. Calamine lotion, oral antihistamines helps to overcome itching and rash.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
