Are Seizures With Foaming In Mouth And Stiffness Normal After Having Had A Stroke?

My husband had a stroke in 2007. Since then, he has had 3 seizures and this morning he had a 4th. It was freeking me out. He is 75 years old; foamed at the mouth, eyes were rolled back in his head, he was stiff. I rolled him over on his side, and after about 5 minutes, the eyes returned to their normal position, but though he looked at me, he could not see me. Then, after about anothyer 5 - 10 minutes, he seemed to come out of it, and I helped him sit up. Then I asked him his name, address, social security number and the name of our dogs. It took a while for him to get it straight, but eventually he did. Oh, and he also had lost bladder control. I managed to get him into his wheelchair (which we decided NOT to throw out), changed the bedding, helped him into clean PJs and he was back with "the living." Are these seizures normal ? My goodness....

Seizures are never normal and anyone having seizures should be treated.
Seizures do occur after strokes as during the stroke some of the brain cells die and they sometimes result in seizures.
You should contact a neurologist and your husband should be put on anti-seizure medications e.g. lerace or valproic acid. Seizures can result in aspiration of vomitus into the lungs resulting in life threatening pneumonia, so its very important that you should take your husband to a neurologist for medication.
