I heard an Egg Cracking sound and lost vision for about ten seconds when extreme pain in head began. I Han these flashes in my eyes for about 3minutes while I just sat stunned...four days later I still have horrible headache and elongated depression like dent that s hurting...what do I do?

Hi,

Head injuries are of three types including the injury to scalp, fracture skull or injury to the brain. Other major classification of head injury is open or closed. Closed wound doesn't has direct brain injury. But open wounds are more lethal. Skull is more strong without bone marrow that may not bear the stress. Head injury due to blow following accidents, or assaults may cause scalp hematoma, concussion, skull fracture, hematoma of the brain and also hemorrhage in the brain tissue. Forceful shaking of the head also damage the brain tissue.

Symptoms are headache, lightheadedness, confusion, fainting, loss of consciousness, vomiting, seizures, vision loss, etc. Management depends on the type of injury open or closed. External injuries are treated appropriately by analgesics, surgery and may be antibiotics if necessary. Open injuries often associated with brain injury. Surgical management is needed for all open wounds. In your case, it is closed injury. I advise you to take CT scan of the head to rule out any hematoma. Headache is corrected with Paracetamol. Consult the physician to rule out other possibilities through examination.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
