Are Severe Lower Abdominal Pain And Back Pain Related To UTI?

Hi I have just been diagnosed with a uti after having actue glandular fever needing hospitalization and persistent stomach troubles involving food. I am on a course of antibiotics for 3 days after the uti was found but I have a strong stinging pain throughout my lower abdomen that is extremely painful and worsens when touched, over all being extremely tender- its kept me up all night and paracetamol. And coadine haven t barely helped. I have back ache and feel generally sick and when I eat get extreme bloating and gas for the next 2 days. I have had this problem before glandular fever Is there any advice on what s causing this and whether its related to the UTI Please and thank you for your time

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the issue of lower abdomen pain with urinary tract infection can be part of gravels in the urinary system or calculus.

Though plenty of liquids and analgesic with a urinary antibiotic can help your issue, it is mandatory to get an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis done for precise diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
