Are Slight Rectal Bleeding And Gas Normal While On Treatment For Chlamydia?
Hi, I recently tested positive for chlamydia. I was prescribed azithromycin powder packet and took the dose yesterday. Today, I used the bathroom twice, both times experiencing gas and had slight bleeding from my rectum. I want to know if this is normal.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have slight rectal bleeding and gas . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like irritable bowel syndrome , constipation , urinary tract infection , gastroenteritis or lactose intolerance . It is rare chance that rectal bleeding and gas occur due to chlamydia as in case of UTI . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor order stool test , endoscopy , ultrasound and physical examination for anal fissure and hemorrhoids and treat it accordingly . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for condition like UTI . For now take laxative , drink plenty of water and ear more fruits and vegetables .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
